A Brave Woman

If you haven’t heard of Holly Butcher, then you must be living without a computer, phone, internet connection or social media.

She is a 27 year-old woman who lost her battle with cancer on the 4th January 2018.

Before she passed away, she wrote a letter which was published on her Facebook page on the 3rd January.

You can see the full letter here.

The words in it are brave, honest and open.

I could not agree more with her thoughts on living your life to the full, but I’ll leave her to tell you that in her letter.

The one sentence I want to send to you today is:

Work to live, don’t live to work.

We’re all guilty of having lived to work.

It’s something that I still do sometimes, and every time I do it I catch myself and think that I need to spend less time working and more time enjoying my family and the world around me.

We’ve been planning to drive an hour up the road and visit the beach for nearly two years.

I mean WTF?!

We will just do it in the next few weeks.

Anyhoo… it’s very important to work to live.

You don’t need to be a multi-billionaire. As long as you’ve got enough to have a warm home and food, then you’re doing better than a lot of people. You should be happy.

“Things” aren’t necessary.

Change your focus.

Work out how much you need to earn to live. Then only spend the time working you need to earn that amount.

Just see how it changes your life!

Ciao,

Michael
