Why was the pumpkin afraid to cross the road?

…it had no guts!

Okay, I admit it, that’s a terrible pumpkin joke.

But it was a bloody great Halloween evening last night.

With all the things that have been going on with our baby, I didn’t have the time to do what I wanted to in terms of decoration, but we still got a pumpkin, and had a bowl of treats ready for the trick-or-treaters.

Next year, I’ve already got it planned.

Have you seen those window projection systems?

The ones where you get ghosts, zombies, pumpkins, frankenstein and all sorts of awesome things projected onto a cloth in your window, so it looks like there’s craziness going on inside!

I want some of that.

I’m going to put that up, and then we’re going to go one step further…

Back when we lived in London, there was this estate agent who used to make a big deal out of halloween. They’d remove everything from their office, and then make it this scary tunnel for kids. The children had to crawl under tables decorated with cobwebs, hanging spiders and other creepy bits.

When they got to the end of the course, they were allowed their pick from a big bag of sweets.

Pretty awesome!

And that’s what we’re going to do next year. I’m already excited just thinking about it.

Yeah, I’m kinda stealing the idea.

Alright, alright.

I’m completely stealing the idea!

But I’ll make it my own when I do it.

Which is the entire point.

You know that famous quote from Mark Twain…

There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible.

So true.

Nobody ever has a new idea, we just take old ideas and give them a new twist, or do them better than people before us.

Heck, a lot of people take old ideas, do them worse, and still manage to make money from them!

It’s not about coming up with a new idea, it’s about using what other people have done, seeing what’s worked, and trying to do it better, or make it easier or cheaper.

And that’s exactly what I’m showing you how to do inside this month’s Business Ignition.

How to take things that you know work, and then use them to your advantage to make your life quicker, easier and more profitable.
