I’ve just finished reading this book called The Half-King, and I loved it. I read a huge amount, at least a book a week, and usually this is Fantasy or Historical Fiction novels. Although I do sometimes mix in business books and other genres as well.
There’s a reason I like Fantasy novels, it’s because while you’re reading them, it takes you to another place. You get transported to a world that doesn’t exist, and to do that well, the writer has to be brilliant.
And to be a good marketer, you have to be able to do exactly the same thing. You have to be able to transport your reader to a place where they relate to your pain, your solution and how you can help them.
It’s the art of storytelling.
For years I’ve wanted to write a book and a movie, but never found the time.
Well, now that’s changed. I’ve begun the process of writing a script, and like my online biznisses, I’ve approached the whole film-making process backwards.
At least that’s what most folk have told me.
However, they’ve still jumped on-board, so there must be some merit in it!
Rather than write a script, then try and get someone to produce it, and then try and get funding, I’ve done this…
Come up with a basic storyline. A high-level concept.
I then went to friends who work in that industry with the high-level concept, and said I wanted to make the trailer for the movie.
Because before I spend money and time trying to raise the funding of the film, putting together the team and producing it, I want to see a minimum viable concept. I want to see feedback on the trailer.
After all, how do people decide what movie they want to see?
- Reviews (friends or professional)
So that’s what I’m doing, I’m currently now writing the trailer, and I’ll let you know when it’s ready.
This minimum viable concept is very important if you don’t want to waste a lot of money in business. Don’t invest too heavily unless you can be damn sure you’re going to make a return.
It’s the way I discovered the steps I now use to launch every single business venture I do. And it’s completely revealed here…
