I’ll be buggered if I can figure this out, can you?

I’m heading down to London today, and buying a train ticket seems to have become almost as difficult as figuring out the Rubik’s Cube.

Gone are the days when you simply had peak and off-peak, now they seem to invent new names for different periods. There’s peak, off-peak, super-off-peak, advanced-off-peak and a whole bunch more.

Just to make it more complicated, there doesn’t seem to be any particular times when these tickets apply.

It quite literally makes absolutely no damn sense!

Hell, it’s so damn complicated and expensive, that this guy saved himself £56 by buying 28 tickets for one journey instead of a single direct ticket.

I mean… WTF?!

The only reason that I still buy these tickets, is because there’s nobody else to buy them from. In effect, a train line is a monopoly.

But you can be sure that if you make it this damn hard to purchase your products, people will go and look elsewhere.

Ciao,

Michael
