By I sent an email out at the end of last week, with the subject line…
“I don’t f**k about”
In it I talked about how I just say it like it is. You may not like it, but you know it’s the truth, and it’s what I’ve done to get to where I am.
But there were a few folk who got offended, and they decided to write me some delightful emails detailing what they thought.
For example, in the midst of one persons rant was this statement:
“I do not have time for such nonsense.”
Looking into their email stats, they’d opened pretty much every single email I’d ever sent since they joined my list.
For someone who didn’t have time for nonsense, they’d spent a heck of a lotta time reading my emails.
The truth?
They weren’t ready to hear what I was saying. They wanted me to say that they were doing the right thing, they just needed to try harder and everything would be fine.
But that’s balls. They weren’t doing the right thing, and I know that from what was put in the email, and they were pissed I’d told them.
No problemo.
If you don’t want to hear the truth, then you don’t want to be on my mailing list, so I unsubscribed them and blocked them from re-joining.
On the other hand, I also got a bunch of emails with statements like this one…
“Hell Yeah! This is great stuff man. Lets Do This!!!!!”
Now that’s what I’m talkin about.
That’s somebody who wants to hear the truth, someone who wants to learn and take action, someone who wants to succeed.
And that’s exactly the kinda person I want on my mailing list, because you’re the folks who’re going somewhere and I wanna be the person to help you get there.
