…build an email list.
I’m sure that this isn’t the the first time that you’ve heard someone say this and I’m equally as confident that it won’t be the last. What makes it ironic is that currently we have nowhere for you to join my own mailing list!
That’s because I am still putting together the content for the awesome bonus that I’m going to be offering you as a thank you for joining. In the mean time you can still follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and set yourself up on our RSS feed so that you get the latest blog posts emailed straight to you or sent to your reader.
Okay, so you’ve heard about building an email list before but I can’t stress how important this is. There is only one way to look at it:
- Don’t build an email list and market to your readers once when they visit your website and hope they come back.
- Build an email list and market to your readers as many times as you want.
Remember that well over 50% of people, on average, need more than one visit to make a purchase. If you aren’t capturing their emails then you are losing 50% of your business straight away!
When building your email list you may have been tempted to use PLR content or something that you have resell rights to as your freebie. My advice is… DON’T.
The content you are offering as a thank you for joining your mailing list has to be excellent. It has to be something that people would be willing to pay for, something that is going to help them solve their problems. Not only that but it should also be something that is unique to you and makes your readers feel that you have their interests and heart and want to help them.
Anything that you’ve purchased, unless you have it custom made, is very unlikely to do this. Yes it takes time to put the content together but it is worth it both for you and your readers.
